My name is John Vo. Ever since I was a child, I was fascinated by Chinese Kung Fu. Like many other people and martial artists around the world, no one inspired me more to take up martial arts than the martial arts legend, Bruce Lee.
After watching his classic films such as 'The Big Boss', 'Way of the Dragon' and of course 'Enter the Dragon'. I decided to take up Tae Kwon Do at the age of 6 years old. Ever since, I have continued to train in the various styles of martial arts , such as Tiger Kung Fu, Wing Chun, Muay Thai and Boxing. To be a complete martial artist and absorbing as much martial knowledge and skill as I can.
As I became more interested in Taoist philosophy and Chinese culture, I became aware of the Chinese Martial Art of Tai Chi Chuan or simply known as "Tai Chi". The art of Tai Chi would become the focus for the last 15 years of my life. I have studied under the tutelage of various Tai Chi Masters.
I owe much of my Tai Chi and Qi Gong knowledge, experience and skill to Masters, Sue Chang and Michael Chu of Tai Chi Fitness Australia in Baulkham Hills, who continue to cultivate the message and benefit of Tai Chi and Qi Gong to this day.
I have also trained extensively in China with the Wudang Tai Chi Masters, whilst living in the legendary Wudang Mountains for months at a time. It is at the Wudang Mountains that the mythical and historical figure Zhang San Feng first created the concept of Tai Chi Chuan and Internal Martial Art. If Shaolin is considered the "Hard style", then Wudang is the "Soft style" of Chinese Martial Arts.
I completely enjoy teaching Tai Chi and sharing my love of the art with my clients by helping them to cultivate their health and fitness. I have been teaching for the last 6 years. I am dedicated to leading an active life and developing my knowledge of the human body which has inspired me to attain a Certified Fitness Instructor qualification.
It is my belief that is important to cultivate your body, mind and spirit.
